Call for Artists

The annual Artist Open Studios (AOS) offers a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of a visual artist through an easy-to-navigate, self-guided tour. Each April, visitors from all over are invited to explore hundreds of artist studios and creative spaces throughout Maryland — free of charge. Featured exhibitions, demos, and artist talks connect artists with the public and highlight each neighborhood’s unique flavor and contributions to Maryland’s artistic vibrancy.

What is included for artists: $100 early bird registration or $150 after Jan 1, 2025

  • Listing on artist directory and a marker on the map(s)
  • Links to all artist social accounts and website
  • Artist Spotlight post on AOS Facebook and Instagram
  • Graphics for use on your social media
  • Flier/poster/signage PDF files
  • Inclusion on localized media calendars
  • Invite to private Facebook group for artist support

What is included for studio groups: (studio with 5+ artists under one roof) - $200+$10/artist early bird registration or $250+$10/artist after Jan 1, 2025

  • One group listing on artist directory and a marker on the map(s)
  • Links to group’s social accounts and website
  • Group Spotlight post on AOS Facebook and Instagram
  • Social post of an artist talk or demo event
  • Graphics for use on your social media

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. is funded by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, (MSAC), an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities.
