Sculpture Commission for The Fitzgerald of Palisades
Call for Artist Submissions

The Fitzgerald of Palisades, a Kisco Signature community, and Amy Kaslow Gallery invite DMV artists and artist teams to submit proposals for the creation of a publicly viewed, privately funded sculpture sited along Washington, D.C.’s MacArthur Boulevard. We seek work with a local signature that shows where we are – at the confluence of U.S. history and nature – and builds community.

Our mission is to engage with local talent, elevate the DMV arts, and establish a stunning focal point for The Fitzgerald and the broader community along iconic MacArthur Boulevard.

The successful submission will feature a powerful connection to the DMV, in content, style and form. Works with a local tie – woods from felled trees in the DMV, stone from the region’s quarries, metals forged in local foundries, or glass blown in nearby studios – will be given preference.

Located in upper NW near the Reservoir, The Fitzgerald is Washington’s newest senior community, offering premier living wrapped in turn-of-the-century architecture with clean lines and gracious openness. Interiors feature floor-to-ceiling views of outside courtyards and gardens landscaped with specimen trees and native plants.

The sculpture will be the centerpiece of one of these stunning courtyards, clearly seen from the dining rooms and lounges on the building’s ground level. The commanding spot will also be visible to pedestrians and drivers as they pass by on MacArthur Boulevard, making it an integral piece of the Palisades community. .
